Lula and Lasso talk cross border crime in Brazil

The Ecuadorian head of state, who has been in Brasilia the day before for Lula’s inauguration, reported on Twitter that the bilateral meeting also discussed the protection of the Amazon and the need to restore mining areas.

The General Secretariat of the Presidency of Ecuador expanded the details of this meeting, where the leaders discussed the fight against chronic child malnutrition and the Brazilian program Bolsa Família, about which an exchange of experiences could take place.

This Monday, President Lula held bilateral meetings with several leaders from other nations attending his inauguration for a third term in the South American giant this Sunday.

For his part, Lasso used the international presence to meet with Chung Jin-Suk, vice president of the Republic of Korea’s National Assembly, to review progress towards concluding a free trade agreement with the Asian country.

The Ecuadorian President is expected in Quito this afternoon.
