Lula received a congratulatory letter from King Charles shortly after his inauguration in January and spoke directly to the monarch over the phone two months later. The PT member said on his social media that climate issues are the main topic of his dialogue with Elizabeth II’s successor.

In the post, the chief executive still referred to Charles as “Carlos 3rd” for example, this is how the monarch is known in Spanishspeaking countries and several other Portuguesespeaking countries besides Brazil

The government said in a note at the time that PT member thanked Charles for “congratulations on the election victory and positive comments on Brazil’s role in the multilateral climate change and sustainable development agenda.”

The coronation of Queen Elizabeth’s successor is one of the most anticipated events in Britain this year. According to Buckingham Palace, alongside the traditional ceremony and processions, there will be celebrity concerts, a grand “national lunch” and a volunteer campaign.

The three days of celebrations, ceremonies and community events will be an opportunity “for people to come together to celebrate a historic event,” according to the agency.

Until then, however, the monarchy must protect itself from the potential ill effects of the inflammatory statements about the royal family contained in the memoirs of Prince Harry, the king’s youngest son, released this month.
