Brasilia, 20.07. (Prensa Latina) Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will carry out a series of political commitments around the Let’s Go Together for Brazil movement in three cities of Pernambuco (Northeast) today and tomorrow.

According to the agenda published by the Labor Party (PT), their presidential candidate for the October elections will attend two public events in the municipalities of Garanhuns and Serra Talhada this Wednesday.

Tomorrow, Lula and former governor Gerardo Alckmin, his vice presidential duo, have time in Recife, capital of the Territorial Division, where they will conclude their trip with a public rally in the Plaza de la Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Carmen. .

The PT plans for the Formula to celebrate a major event in Brasilia during the Brazilian Socialist Party Congress on July 29th.

Earlier, on June 16, Lula carried out a program of political and social duties in Natal, the state capital of Rio Grande do Norte, also at the northeastern end of the South American giant.

It was in that city that the former labor leader attended the First Northeast Family Farming Fair and later had lunch with the governors of the region’s nine states.

The worsening famine in Brazil, where more than 33.1 million people are currently without food, was the central theme of the former President’s meeting with the authorities of the Northeast on this occasion.

According to the PT, the movement is … an alliance of progressive parties working to rebuild the country currently “massacred by hunger, unemployment, inflation and the dismantling of public wealth and sovereignty brought about by (President) Jair Bolsonaro.”

Following the coalition’s national presentation in Sao Paulo, Lula and Alckmin met on May 7 to strengthen the alliance in Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio Grande do Norte, Alagoas, Sergipe, Bahia, Rio de Janeiro and Distrito Federal. To date, the former president is leading all opinion polls towards the next vote, which will see far-right leader Jair Bolsonaro seek re-election.
