A 56-year-old tourist collapsed and died after the world’s highest bungee jump.

The as-yet-unnamed Japanese tourist was taken to Conde S. Märzio Hospital in Macau, China, after jumping from the Macau Tower on Sunday afternoon.

Officials said he suffered from shortness of breath and lost consciousness shortly after the 764-foot jump at 4:30 p.m.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found he was not breathing or had a heartbeat. He was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.

Skypark by AJ Hackett, the company that runs bungee jumping and other activities at the Macau Tower, says on its website that paying customers should inform employees of any health concerns before participating in any of its activities.
