Actor Kieran Culkin surprised viewers at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards during his acceptance speech after winning the Best Actor in a Drama Series category for his performance in “Succession.” The artist, brother of his fellow actor Macaulay Culkin, sent an “idiot” to his friend Pedro Pascal, his competitor in the same category, for his work in the series “The Last of Us”.

Culkin's nervousness in his speech drew laughter from the awards audience. When Pascal was mentioned by his colleague, he first laughed and then contorted his face into crying.
“Thank you,” Culkin said, then put his hand over his mouth. “I’m sorry, I’m burping. Indigestion. I didn't have to say that. In any case, it’s a great moment for me.”

Culkin then spoke directly to his wife, Jazz Charton: “I already screwed up, Jazz. You were right. You said, “Just say thank you and go away.” You were right.”
The actor then referenced his first Golden Globe nomination in 2003 for his work in the 2002 drama “Igby's Odd Family”: “I was nominated for a Golden Globe 20 years ago and as that moment passed, I remembered that I thought: I would never go into that room again and that's okay, I don't know. But thanks to “Succession,” I’ve been back here a few times. It's cool, but I also thought I'd never go on stage. So that’s cool.”

Finally he joked: “Screw it, Pedro. Excuse me. It’s mine!” he said with a laugh and showed his trophy.
Kieran Culkin starred in Home Alone (1990) and Home Alone 2 (1992), his brother's biggest hits. He brought to life the character Fuller, a younger cousin of the protagonist who is known for his bedwetting.
