MacBook Pro M2 Pro and M2 Pro Max: Release postponed again

Anyone who was waiting for the arrival of the MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips at the beginning of the year will have to be patient. According to information from DigiTimes provided by 9to5Mac, their release could be delayed again.

There is a report from Apple’s supply chain that says so, but doesn’t give a specific date for the availability of these new MacBook Pros. It merely indicates that the updates could be “delayed again”. It is therefore unlikely that they will be launched in March, as many initially thought. We shouldn’t see the MacBook Pro M2 Pro and M2 Pro Max until next June at the Apple Developer Conference (WWDC) at the earliest.

MacBook shipments cut in half

The DigiTimes report also speaks of a drop in MacBook shipments in this first quarter of 2023. Shipments would be reduced by 40% to 50% compared to the fourth quarter of 2022, which is really huge considering the fall in shipments in this period normally fluctuates between 10 and 20%.
