Macron proposes an international coalition to fight Hamas

French President Emmanuel Macron proposed this Tuesday (24) the formation of one International coalition to combat Hamas.

Upon his arrival at Tel Aviv airport, the French president met with families of French victims of the October 7 terrorist attack. The Hamas attack killed 30 French citizens and seven others are missing.

Hours later, Emmanuel Macron suggested Israeli authorities expand the coalition that has been fighting the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria since 2014 to also fight Hamas, without giving details. Israel does not participate in this USled coalition.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Hamas was responsible for the deaths of civilians in Gaza, but Israel would make every effort to prevent it.

After the visit to Israel, Macron traveled to Ramallah in the West Bank, an area administered by the Palestinian Authority. He told President Mahmoud Abbas that without the implementation of the twostate solution, “there will be no lasting peace” with Israel safely alongside a Palestinian state.

According to Hamas, dozens of injured people had to be taken to hospital after Israeli shelling in Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip. Men and small children were carried in arms or on stretchers in ambulances or private cars.

The Saqallah family, heeding Israel’s warnings and fleeing to Khan Younis, buried more than 50 relatives. The family says Israeli attacks hit the house where they were staying this Monday (23).

According to the Hamas Ministry of Health, more than 700 people have died from shelling in the last 24 hours. This figure could not be independently verified.

There were also strong explosions in Gaza City. Israel said it attacked 400 Hamas targets and killed dozens of militiamen from Monday (23) to Tuesday (24), but that the war against the terror group would take time.

Doctors report that sanitary conditions have deteriorated. In recent weeks, the southern part of the Gaza Strip has welcomed more than a million people who moved in after Israel warned it would bomb Hamas targets in the north. There is a lack of electricity, drinking water and fuel in the Gaza Strip.

According to the United Nations, five trucks carrying water, two carrying food and one carrying medicine entered the Gaza Strip this Tuesday. The United Nations says it will be forced to suspend humanitarian operations in Gaza from Wednesday night (25) if it does not receive urgent fuel.

Israeli security forces responded that Hamas still had large stocks of diesel fuel in Gaza and released a satellite photo that Israel said showed the terror group’s tanks carrying more than 500,000 liters of fuel.

“Ask Hamas if they can provide anything,” the Israel Defense Forces message said.

The United Nations World Food Program said the crisis in Gaza was one of the worst the organization had ever experienced. People in the Palestinian enclave need food and basic necessities some only have access to salty sea water to drink.
