Tori Spelling says late “Beverly Hills, 90210” co-star Luke Perry confided in her that he had a romantic relationship with Madonna in the early '90s.
Spelling, 50, opened up about the revelation on Sunday's episode of her podcast with Jennie Garth, 90210MG, recalling details of how Perry told her about the budding relationship on the set of the hit Fox series.
“I’ll never forget him pulling me into his locker room and telling me,” Spelling said. “I felt so confided – 'Oh my God, he's telling me about Madonna!'”
Perry, who died March 4, 2019, at age 52, played Spelling an answering machine message that Madonna had left for him, Spelling said.
“Remember we used to have answering machines?” Spelling said. “He played me a message from her. I thought, “You’re the coolest person in the world. First, because you’re Luke Perry, and second, because Madonna wants you.”

Garth, 51, asked Spelling, “Did I know that?” To which she replied, “Jen, we kept these things from you because you want to hear it.”
Perry was a star who played the role of Dylan McKay in the early years of the Fox teen drama. During its run between 1990 and 2000, he appeared in eight of the series' ten seasons, as he did not appear in the show's seventh or eighth seasons while he explored other career options.
Perry and Madonna crossed paths at an American Foundation for AIDS Research gala at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, in late 1991, Vanity Fair reported in its July 1992 issue.
Madonna personally called the pop culture heartthrob to present her with an award at the event after the scheduled host, the late showbiz icon Elizabeth Taylor, came down with the flu.
Perry and the music icon kissed while he was on stage at the event, sparking rumors of a romance, according to Vanity Fair.
Following their romance, Perry married Rachel Sharpe in 1993, and the couple remained married until 2003, during which time they welcomed son Jack, 26, and daughter Sophie, 23. Jack is a professional wrestler with AEW while Sophie is an actress.
After dating Perry, Madonna began a romance with actor Carlos Leon, the father of her daughter Lourdes Leon, 27. The Material Girl went on to marry filmmaker Guy Ritchie, the father of her son Rocco Ritchie, 23.
Madonna has also adopted four children: son David Banda, 18, (with Ritchie); daughter Mercy James, 18; and twin daughters Stella and Estere, 11.

Spelling is in good spirits as she turns the page on a challenging 2023 in which she struggled with a series of financial problems, uncertain living conditions, physical illness and her separation from her estranged husband Dean McDermott.
The past year has been a busy one for other members of the Beverly Hills, 90210 cast.
Shannen Doherty underwent surgery to remove a tumor from her head on January 16, 2023, and made the news of her long-running health battle public in June. (Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and in February 2020 she said she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer.)
Also in January, Doherty and her ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko separated, and she announced that they were divorcing in April due to “irreconcilable differences.”
The show's Ian Ziering told People last month that Doherty “has always been a fighter” and is “truly an incredible woman.”
Of her health battle, he said: “It's not over yet.” She has a long way to go. She is so brave and strong and serves as a role model for those who face similar adversities.”
Ziering experienced a dangerous incident on the last day of the year when he was attacked by several mini-bike riders while riding on Hollywood Boulevard on December 31st. He suffered no injuries during the frightening altercation, which remains under investigation.
The new year began on a sad note as David Gail, who played Stuart Carson in eight episodes on the series from 1991 to 1994, died earlier this year as a result of a possible drug overdose that authorities were investigating.
