Madonna scores her song “Hold This” for an Instagram video that shows her saddled up for horseback riding

Just getting back in the saddle, Madonna took up riding last year after a nearly 15-year absence after a bad fall that resulted in multiple fractures.

But the Material Girl looks like she hasn’t missed a thing in a new Instagram video, which shows her showing off her skills while horseback riding across the open fields of Kenya in Africa with family and friends.

And in an added touch of artistry and cross-promotion, the legendary pop superstar shared the edited clip on her social media platform with a snippet from her song Hold Tight (2015), which is full of inspirational lyrics that speak of being strong to be and triumph through hard times.

Back in the saddle: Madonna, 64, shared a video of herself horseback riding, seemingly with some of her six children, while vacationing with family in the east African nation of Kenya

The video appears to have been shot during Madonna’s family vacation in Kenya, East Africa.

From above there are a few shots showing the wide open area followed by a first glimpse of the group of singer-songwriters all seated on horseback.

Right at the start there are catchy synthesizer sounds from Hold Tight, a single from the album Rebel Heart (2015).

And when she was heard delivering her first chant, viewers got their first glimpse of Madonna on her horse from behind.

“Hold on while you’re by my side – Hold on, it’s going to be alright,” she can be heard singing while the clip shows her sand accelerating her horse.

Hold Tight is a mid-tempo pop song that incorporates military drums, atmospheric keyboards and electronic flourishes into its instrumentation.

Lyrically, the song speaks of love triumphing through difficult times with the message to hold on to each other and be strong.

Madonna is the proud mother of six children, four of whom – David, 17, Mercy, 16, and identical twins Estere and Stelle, 10 – were adopted from the Republic of Malawi in southeast Africa.

She also has a daughter Lourdes, 26, who she shares with ex-partner Carlos Leon, and a son Rocco, 22, from her marriage to Guy Ritchie.

Madonna had turned away from horseback riding after a serious accident more than 15 years ago when she was thrown from her horse on her 47th birthday.

She suffered three broken ribs, a broken collarbone, and a broken hand from the fall in 2005.

“Back in the saddle where I belong!” The seven-time Grammy winner captioned a video in April 2021 that showed footage of herself enjoying equine therapy. ‘Never say Never.’

Madonna actually got back on a horse for the first time since the fall for an episode of The Late Show with David Letterman many months after the accident.

She sustained minor injuries in another horse accident while visiting a friend in South Hampton in 2009.

Madonna admitted that her record company “wasn’t very keen on the idea” of her riding horses, but confessed that she occasionally tried to enjoy the activity when she could stave the time.
