Maduro advocated unifying Celac to build a new development model

The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, endorsed this Tuesday during the Seventh Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac)so that the organism moves towards building solid foundations that will consolidate the union, development and a social model in the region.

“We believe the time has come for the community of Latin American and Caribbean countries to build itself from within, with a very clear vision of what the future of our countries should be and the need to lay solid foundations for building the community.” to create our countries, the union for liberation, the union for development, the union for building a new model of society in this Latin America,” he explained.

The Bolivarian leader also proposed the creation of the Celac General Secretariatand stressed the need to resume the work of territorial Councils of Ministers to define a common defense and geopolitical strategy, as well as address issues related to education, health, culture and the economy.

At the same time, he urged the countries that make up the regional mechanism to unite their efforts against foreign intervention, declaring that “better times” were coming for the bloc.

This Tuesday, representatives of 33 member countries from Celac take part in the seventh summit of heads of state and government.
