The Lima 2019 Pan American Games was a historic edition of this event for Peruvian sport. This edition was not only the first organized by our country, but also broke the record for medals won by national representatives in a single edition. One of the athletes who contributed to this success was a surfer Maria Fernanda Reyeswho presented a silver medal that secured him not only sporting glory but also an apartment at the Villa Panamericana, an incentive granted by the Legacy Project.
The handover of the property has been postponed due to various circumstances, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, but this year the surfer will finally see the fruits of her efforts. “And it’s time for the physical handover of the condo on July 26th!” proclaimed an excited Mafer Reyes on her social media account.
At the show four years ago, Reyes won the silver medal in women’s longboard surfing. Like them, another 64 Peruvian athletes earned the advantage of their own division by finishing on the podium in their respective disciplines.

Will Mafer Reyes Attend Pan American Games 2023?
At the next edition of the Games, which will take place between October and November this year in the city of Santiago de Chile, María Fernanda Reyes will also be present as part of the bicolor delegation.
The surfer took second place on the board in May, securing her Pan American Games qualification. Between 150 and 170 national athletes are expected to attend the event, according to Renzo Manyari, President of the Peruvian Olympic Committee (COP).
