A Married At First Sight producer has revealed the crew were surprised by groom Jayden Eynaud's shocking confession – and wish he hadn't done it.
During Tuesday night's shocking episode, bride Eden Harper's marriage was on the rocks after her husband Jayden revealed he had made a sex pact with his ex.
Jayden admitted that he gave his unfaithful ex another chance on one condition: he had to have sex with her best friend while she watched.
MAFS executive producer John Walsh told Chattr they never expected the shocking development and would have preferred if Jayden had kept it to himself.
“The stories go in different directions that we never expected.” “We have a hero character this year who revealed a story during Confessions Week,” he began, referring to Jayden.

He then said the stunning confession suddenly changed the perception of Jayden from an all-around good person to a more complicated one.
“We said, ‘Mate. I wish you hadn't told that story because it derails his story arc suddenly, temporarily or otherwise.'
“You see him a certain way for the first few weeks and then he says something different and you go, ‘Wow,’ and it makes you stop and think. But this is the show and you have to persevere.'

“You have to trust the process and respond.” They say, 'I wish that hadn't happened, but we're going there!'” she said.
As part of Confessions Week, Jayden and Eden were asked to write letters to each other in which they opened up and revealed something personal.
Jayden, 28, admitted he was “really, really nervous about the task” before sitting down with Eden, 26, to describe how he made a sex pact with his ex after seeing her at the caught cheating.
“My ex-girlfriend cheated on me. “She went out to dinner and the movies and I've even had men confess to me personally that they slept with her,” he began.
“I told her I was willing to give her another chance, but [that] I'm going to sleep with her best friend while she watches.'
Eden began to cry as the professional kickboxer explained that one of his ex's friends agreed to sleep with him just “a few days” later.
“Do you regret that?” a visibly shaken Eden asked, to which Jayden replied: “I don't regret it” – and Eden later admitted she found the confession “triggering”.
