MAFS casting producers slip into the direct messages of a dedicated Channel Nine sports host’s fiancé

Channel Nine host Danika Mason found herself at the center of an unexpected mistake that could have seen her fiancé Todd Liubinskas transform into an overnight reality star.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the casting producers of ‘Married At First Sight’ recently reached out to Todd, son of former Wests star Mick Liubinskas, via his Instagram direct messages, expressing his interest in starring in the upcoming series.

The couple were confused when Liubinskas’ Instagram page featured many amorous photos with the glamorous sports presenter.

Mason and Liubinskas, who will tie the knot later this year, aren’t shy about posting their love story on social media.

However, the MAFS scouts apparently did not fully understand the memo.

The hit dating show was inundated with fame-hungry influencers and wannabe reality stars more interested in boosting their profile than finding their soulmates.

“It’s been a real challenge so far,” they said. “We’ve had a huge influx of influencers and wannabe celebrities applying to be on the show, but we’re struggling to find real contestants who are genuinely looking for love.”

“We want to maintain the integrity of the show and provide genuine, warm connections to our viewers, but it’s getting harder and harder.”

The flood of applicants seeking their 15 minutes of fame has gotten the show’s producers in trouble as they scour countless auditions to find authentic candidates willing to risk their hearts for a chance at the real one to get love

The source added, “We had to step up our vetting process with more in-depth interviews and background checks.”

“It’s a time-consuming and costly process, but we’re committed to finding the right games for the upcoming season.”

“We’re looking for people who will be the next Tahnee and Ollie, not Harrison and Bronte.”

According to the source, numerous contestants who applied and were approached for the show have already appeared on other reality TV shows, making them ineligible to participate.

“They got through one or two stages of the interviews and then mentioned they were on another show, which wasted everyone’s time.”

Given the meteoric rise in popularity of MAFS in recent years, this casting crisis comes as no surprise.

The show has become a stepping stone for many former contestants, who have embarked on lucrative careers in the public eye thanks to their presence on the series.

Some viewers have expressed concern that the increasing number of celebrity-searchers on the show could lead to more artificial drama and less real emotion, potentially threatening the show’s credibility.

However, Channel Nine remains committed to providing its loyal audience with an authentic and engaging viewing experience.

MAFS executive producer Tara McWilliams, who has made the show the ratings giant it is today, previously admitted that some of the contestants were not “100 percent real.”

She told Mediaweek it was “unrealistic” to expect all brides and grooms to be “motivated solely by the search for love.”

But whatever their intentions, she makes sure all participants are “authentic” in their own way and genuinely want to participate in the experiment — even if romance isn’t their primary motivation.
