MAFS: Harrison Boon reveals what his girlfriend thought of his villain cut

EXCLUSIVE: Married At First Sight’s Harrison Boon Reveals What His Girlfriend Gina Thought Of His Villain Edit: ‘She’s Never Seen That Side Of Me’

Married At First Sight star Harrison Boon has opened up about the impact his ‘bad guy cut’ had on his girlfriend Gina.

The 32-year-old builder revealed that Gina, 29, was shocked to see him portrayed in such a negative way on the show because she had never seen that side of him before.

Speaking to Chron Australia, Harrison said the situations on the show are staged in such a way that his on-screen personality doesn’t even remotely match his actual character.

“She’s never seen that side of me and probably never will,” he said.

“I don’t go around trying to call people and getting into arguments in my day-to-day life. It’s not who I am. I just want to get along with people and make the most of life.”

Harrison stated the show’s main goal is to create drama and argument, something viewers don’t understand.

“You want people to stand up for themselves and create the conflict,” he said.

“That’s the whole point of MAFS – fights, explosions, that’s the show. We all agree on that.’

Harrison also offered some advice for those considering going on the show.

“Go in with your eyes wide open and don’t let the production push you around,” said the father-of-one.

He warned that a “crappy edit” can lead to serious personal and professional consequences, and the chances of becoming a likable character are slim.

“You really have between a half and a 25 percent chance of being a main character and even less of being a good one,” he said.

“There’s a 1 in 24 chance you’ll be the villain of the season and a 12 in 24 chance you’ll be the damn supporting character.”

Harrison warned future cast members to be aware of the risks involved, saying, “When you’re the villain, you have to put up with a lot of shit. Your family is being attacked.

“You get these horrible stories written about you, podcasters with no conscience will come out and smear you. It’s not a good place to be.’

“It’s not a platform to get famous,” he explained. “It opens doors, but it also closes many.”

The 2024 season of Married At First Sight is currently in pre-production.
