Now he’s making headlines with an unexpected career move: he made the leap into the hairdressing industry and opened a new salon called Balaclava Barbers.
In an interview with Chron Australia, Steve, 55, revealed the decision was made shortly after selling his previous company, which he described as a little hesitant.
“I felt compelled to sell my last business but what happened in the past is over… I’m only interested in what happens in the future and that is serving the St Kilda community in Melbourne,” he explained.
In fact, Steve approaches his new venture with the same passion and dedication that he once excelled in the hairdressing industry.

‘Mate? It’s my passion. “My passion is taking care of all the people who come to my store,” he explained.
He envisions a community-based business, a place where people can not only get an amazing haircut, but feel comfortable, valued, and go home with a big smile.
“Balaclava Barbers is a community based hair salon where you matter. So every single customer who enters the store is important. “You’re not just a customer … I want my customers, every customer that walks in the door, to feel like they matter when they come in and put their business on me,” he emphasized.

Interestingly, his loyal customers seem to share his enthusiasm.
Steve shared that a large number of clients from his previous business have visited his new hair salon which is just 50 meters from his old home.
The response was overwhelming and many said they were happy to see him in action again.
Steve also noted the unique relationship people have with their barbers and attributed this to the atmosphere in the store.

Steve, who starred in the show’s seventh season, was paired with OnlyFans star Mishel Karen, but the pair didn’t manage to develop a romantic relationship.
Though he’s largely kept out of the spotlight, he announced last year that he’s started selling properties in Melbourne.
“I left the hairdressing business because I wanted a new direction and switched to a real estate company in Brighton, Victoria,” he previously told Chron Australia.
Steve explained that after years of running his own hair salon in Melbourne’s CBD while going through and out of lockdown, he felt the time was right to see what else was out there.
