Married at first sight, Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton didn’t have to stray far from their family tree to find love.
Early in the series, reports surfaced that Tahnee and Ollie’s TV wedding took a bizarre turn when they learned they were distant relatives.
The revelation never aired, but Tahnee has now confirmed that the rumors are true and that she has no regrets marrying her own family member.
“At the wedding, the two families were obviously separated. Ollie’s mom looked over and she saw Jasper, my sister’s fiancé, and she said, “I know you! Your dad is my cousin!’ the 27-year-old told Yahoo Lifestyle.
‘And then she started freaking out and said, ‘What if the bride is Jasper’s sister?’ Because then we would be literally blood relatives.”

Luckily, the couple is only related by marriage. Ollie, 26, is the second cousin of Tahnee’s brother-in-law, Jasper, who is not related to Tahnee by blood.
However, if Tahnee’s sister decides to have children with Jasper, her child will be related to both Tahnee and Ollie by blood.
While some people have been put off by the idea of marrying a distant relative, Tahnee sees their unlikely connection as a “good omen.”

“I saw it as a really great sign because I love Jasper. He’s amazing and I have a great relationship with him so I figured if Ollie’s family is anything like Jasper’s family then we’re cute,” she gushed.
The couple hit it off immediately after exchanging vows before flying to Fiji and consummating their marriage on the first night of their honeymoon.
Tahnee and Ollie are the youngest couple to ever appear in Married At First Sight.
The couple has only gotten stronger in the months since filming began, and the couple recently moved in together.
