Andy Pereira and Jorge Moisés Campos combined talent and will to star in the second big surprise of Cuban table tennis in Santiago, Chile. In a game in which they met between the Brazilians Hugo Calderano and Vitor Ishiy, the best pair on the continent, the Antilles won another extraordinary title, touched by magic and admiration.
In a match played in six sets, the Cubans were behind by a score of 5:11 in the first set, but then prevailed and won consecutively with a doubles 11:8 and a 12:10, which the proximity to the title was practically unthinkable before this edition.
Then the Cariocas regained ground with a score of 11-8, just a preview of a final set in which Andy and Moisés always led until the score was 11-7.
After the last point came the joy, but above all the admiration of a country that witnessed the progress of a sport that arrived in Santiago de Chile to defy all odds and achieve the coup of authority that has been carried out over the years with sacrifices and sweat was worked.
