Footage has captured the horrifying moment when an Australian magician was attacked onstage while performing a show on a cruise ship.
Ben Murphy appeared on Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas on March 1 when he invited a female passenger onto the stage.
A member of the audience recorded the show as Murphy performed his latest trick with the woman.
In the video, Murphy leans toward the woman seated on the stage and uses his mouth to touch a folded card pinched between her lips.

He gently leaned forward to smack their cards together as part of the cheeky introduction before a man lunged at him.
Murphy’s face lit up in panic as he was attacked by the man.
The woman was seen pushing the man away, visibly upset with him, before walking away.
A stunned Murphy later posted the footage to Instagram.
“Entertainment, comedy and magic are NOT contact sports,” he wrote.
“This guest should not have enjoyed the rest of their cruise.”
Murphy said it took a week for anyone to reach out to him and get testimony, and claimed he was told the delay was because there were “no witnesses.”
Royal Cruises told Chron Australia it could not comment on an ongoing investigation.
Social media users quickly rushed in to defend Murphy and shared their shock at the footage.
“We were in the audience for this and my jaw almost hit the floor… Sorry not only for you but for the poor wife and children who saw the whole thing,” one wrote.
Another added: “We were in the audience and it was absolutely crazy!
“We assumed he would have been locked in his cabin for the rest of the cruise and I’d be furious if he wasn’t!
“You did a great job continuing the rest of the show. Hope you are well.’
Murphy is a comedy magician and illusionist who has traveled the world performing his shows.
