Highway 40 and its side roads will be completely closed to traffic next Saturday and Sunday due to work to dismantle part of the overpass on Boulevard des Galeries-d’Anjou.

Last month, the government warned that several obstacles await as reconstruction of this overpass resumed over Highway 40 after a winter hiatus since March 20. This massive project, which started in 2021, must be completed by the end of 2023.
The Autobahn 40 will be “closed in both directions” on April 22nd and 23rd. “In addition, access roads are blocked in both directions. These obstacles lead to heavy traffic jams. Users are asked to avoid the area,” the ministry said.
Specifically, the freeway axis will be completely closed from April 22 at 10 p.m. to April 23 at 11 a.m. in an easterly direction between exit 78 and the access roads from freeway 25. Westbound, the entire section between exit 80-North and the entrance from Langelier Boulevard will be closed and completely closed.
By default, the ramps from the A25 North to the A40 West, from the A25 South to the A40 West, from the A40 East to the A25 North and from the A40 East to the A25 South are also closed at the same time.
Motorway service lanes will also be closed between 9:00 p.m. on April 22 and 2:00 p.m. on April 23. Eastbound traffic will no longer be possible between Avenue des Halles and the entrance to the shopping center, while westbound traffic between Rue Jarry Est and Avenue de Neuville will be suspended. The ramp between Rue du Champ-d’Eau and the access road heading east will also be closed.
Finally, no cars are allowed to circulate on the Boulevard des Galeries-d’Anjou between 10 p.m. on April 22nd and 11 a.m. the next day. Above Highway 40, the axis will be completely closed to traffic.
