Major Baseball: The first CEO leaves her post

The Miami Marlins need to find a new general manager since Kim Ng has decided to leave the team.

The big baseball club announced this on Monday. Owner Bruce Sherman said in a statement that his organization exercised the option included in his contract to return in 2024. However, the 54-year-old refused to do what she was entitled to do.

Ng was hired ahead of the 2021 season and became the first woman to receive a general manager position in one of North America’s largest sports. Under his leadership, the Marlins held a record of 220-266. That year, the Florida team finished third in the Eastern Section of the National League and qualified for the playoffs. However, it was defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies in the first phase of the series.
