After winning the World Series with the Chicago Cubs in 2016, the 36-year-old was invited to the All-Star Game that year. Known for his speed, he dominated the major leagues with 14 triples in 2010 while playing for the Colorado Rockies. Fowler also had 19 home runs and 67 RBIs in a St. Louis Cardinals uniform in 2019.

“I’m here. I’m hanging up my crampons. I’ve gone from a draft in Colorado to a veteran in Anaheim, and during this journey there are many memories I will never forget. I got the call from the majors in September 2008 and he never stopped. […] When I look at my entire journey, I played the sport right and did everything I could to make a positive impact besides winning. That makes me the most proud,” he wrote specifically on Twitter.

After playing just seven games for the Angels in his final season in 2021, the outfielder tried his luck at the academy of the AAA Toronto Blue Jays last year. However, the Buffalo Bisons eventually released him.
