Major League Baseball: Danny Jansen gives the Blue Jays the win by stretching his arms

The Toronto Blue Jays scored their first points of the game in the 10th inning, defeating the New York Yankees 3-0 at the Rogers Center on Wednesday night.

It was Danny Jansen who played the heroes. The catcher threw a shot wide from pitcher Wandy Peralta while teammates Cavan Biggio and Whit Merrifield already occupied the lanes.

The Jays starter for that game, Chris Bassitt, also had a say in that win. He gave the Yankees all three hits to the safety net and just one walk in seven innings of work that game. The 34-year-old right-hander also overtook seven competitors in the mitten.

To the relief, Yimi Garcia, Tim Mayza and Jordan Romano continued Bassitt’s great work and their opponents were unable to buy a hit at the plate in the last four rounds.

With this win, the Jays ended the dominance of the Yankees, who had been victorious in the first two games of the series.

Without son Guerrero

The Blue Jays were without Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s services. Before the duel, coach John Schneider explained that his star player had problems in his right knee.

He also indicated that the results of an MRI scan were positive and he expects his athlete to be able to return to the field this week.

In 40 games so far this season, the former Montreal Expos star’s son has batted .312 and hit seven home runs.

With or without Guerrero Jr., the Blue Jays take on the Yankees in the fourth and final game of the series Thursday at the Rogers Center.

German suspended

In addition, Major League Baseball suspended Yankees pitcher Domingo German for ten games.

The 30-year veteran was sentenced Tuesday for using an illegal substance on the hill against the Blue Jays. He was ruled out of the game in the fourth inning after an umpire review. One of them said that “Deutsch’s hand was the stickiest” he had ever touched.

The gunner had pulled back the first nine batters he faced before being shown the way out. After the game, he said he didn’t cheat and that he “didn’t need any extra help to grab the ball.” However, German did not appeal and therefore accepted his suspension.
