However, the founding of the Queen City relied on several of its big guns, including George Springer and Bo Bichette. Both men did absolutely nothing in three appearances at the plate. They were also deleted once each.
There was one bright spot in this part of the Jays’ spring camp, though, and that was starter Alek Manoah’s outfit. In three and a third working set, he overtook four opponents in gloves. The gunner also gave up an earned run on three hits.
In the fourth inning, Matt Wallner opened the scoring by letting Willi Castro step on the plate with a double. A batsman later, Manoah saw his game come to an end.
Castro, Brooks Lee, Tyler White and Kala’i Rosario then rode in the other heats of the twins. The first on this list has three vault hits in four bats.
Manager John Schneider will split his roster Thursday when the Blue Jays take on the Tampa Bay Rays and Atlanta Braves. These two duels will be played in the afternoon.
