Maldives reaffirms its firm commitment to the Palestinian cause

The meeting was reported by PSM News, which also highlighted that the Maldives has repeatedly called on the international community to take immediate action to stop the Israeli army’s ongoing attacks on Palestinian civilians.

Recently, at an emergency meeting of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the Maldives, together with member states, expressed deep fear and concern over the recent escalation of violence by Israel, the news agency said.

Malé’s representative to the international organization called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and advocated a negotiated solution that would lead to two independent states and a lasting peace, PSM News highlighted.

Similarly, the Maldives has organized donations to help Palestinians affected by the Israeli bombings of the Gaza Strip, such as the International Aid Campaign (IAC)’s collection of $843,000.

The small South Asian archipelago also provided $100,000 in financial aid to families, distributed by IAC volunteers, and recently the government donated two million cans of tuna to the people of Palestine.
