The title of Mahmood’s new song Cocktail d’amore angered Cristiano Malgioglio. “I’m angry. I came to Istanbul to visit my friend and they warned me that today Mahmood announced a new song called Cocktail d’amore. “This is an iconic track, the one with the very successful song that I wrote and that was made a success by poor Stefania Rotolo,” explains the lyricist AdnKronos, remembering the showgirl who died in 1981 at the age of thirty. “I’m beside myself,” he continues . That’s not a banal title, but very original for such an important song. As if I had written a song and called it “In the Blue Painted Blue.” And then again: “That’s not possible, that makes me angry. If he If I had done a cover it would have been a good thing, but it really isn’t. If he has no ideas, he should change jobs immediately. Because this work is done with good ideas and not by copying other people’s ideas. Faced with these stylistic errors, I become a beast,” concludes Malgioglio. Mahmood announced his return today – Monday, October 30th – with the new single – specifically “Cocktail d’amore” – which will be released on radio and digital platforms on November 3rd. Written by the singer-songwriter himself and produced by Dardust, it is a melancholic ballad about the end of a relationship that gently scrolls through the couple’s memories, from travel to the simplest moments and gestures to the expectations and desires that now clouded are regrets.
