A family picnic turned into a nightmare after a 32-year-old mother was swept away by the waves while her horrified children watched as she posed with her husband on large rocks by the sea. Arabia was particularly excited in Mumbai, India.
“Mommy!” In video captured by a witness to the sad scene, can we hear distressed children screaming after a particularly strong wave hit the couple?
Unfortunately, 32-year-old Jyoti Sonar was swept away despite her husband Mukesh Sonar trying to catch her on June 9, The Independent reported on Monday.
“I lost my balance and we both slipped. “A man held me while I grabbed my wife, but I couldn’t save her,” he reportedly complained to local police.

The couple, who were smiling moments earlier, had headed to the Bandra Bandstand boardwalk for their regular family picnic. The beach they usually went to was closed that day due to high tide, British media said.
Then the couple had the idea of landing on one of the big rocks to take photos.
“Jyoti followed me into the sea and we started enjoying the feeling of the water splashing on our clothes. The children also tried to come towards us but we held them back as the sea was rough,” Mr Sonar reportedly told the Indian Daily.
The body of the 30-year-old was recovered dead the next day by the Mumbai Coast Guard after a 20-hour search.
