A Miami man has been arrested over a domestic violence incident and accused of stabbing and beating his pregnant girlfriend with a frying pan.
Thaddeus Davis, 27, was arrested this week, nearly two months after he brutally attacked his partner during a “bitter argument,” Miami-Dade police said.
The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the victim’s home in the 26000 block of South Dixie Highway.
According to the arrest report obtained by Local 10, the attack occurred when Thaddeus demanded his seven-week pregnant girlfriend show him the text messages on her phone, which she refused.
In response, the man hit her over the head with a frying pan, then grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her in the left side of her body. He finally took the phone from her and fled.
An arrest report said the couple had been together for a year but did not live together. At the time of the alleged attack, the victim was seven weeks pregnant with her child.
The woman was taken to Baptist Health Homestead Hospital in stable condition. The next day, he reported the attack to police and identified Thaddeuss in a photo.
The report said the couple had been dating for a year but did not live together.
After an investigation, he was arrested this week and charged with the crimes of armed robbery, attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault on a pregnant victim.
He was sent to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bail.
