A man has been arrested on suspicion of killing young Pava LaPere, CEO of tech startup EcoMap and Forbeslisted. She was found dead in her apartment in the USA. According to court documents, the 26yearold was strangled and brutally beaten with bricks. According to NBC News, the crime is being investigated as a murder.

LaPere suffered serious injuries to his head, face and body, according to statements filed in Maryland District Court. The victim was found halfnaked with signs of violence on her body. Near her were a brick, blood, three teeth, buttons, a pair of pants, a broken hair clip and a pair of red shoes.

The main suspect in the crime, Jason Dean Billingsley, 32, was arrested on Wednesday evening, the 27th. He faces multiple charges, including firstdegree murder and assault with a brick as a dangerous weapon.

Acting Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley emphasized that the investigation is ongoing to determine the connection between the victim and the suspect. However, days before LaPere’s murder, Billingsley was suspected of raping a woman. The first crime involved cutting the victim’s throat, repeated rape and arson.
