A man has filed a lawsuit against the Spanish healthcare system after discovering his son conceived through IVF was not biological. The family requested compensation of 1 million euros, equal to R$ 5.6 million, from the health service
At the same time, an acquaintance of the couple happened to have access to the child’s birth certificate and found that the baby had a blood type incompatible with the dual membership of the parents.

According to the notice published by the association El Defensor del Patient, in 2019 the couple put themselves on the waiting list to undergo the assisted reproduction procedure at the Puerta del Mar Hospital Universidad de Cádiz. Two years later, the oocytes were collected and after three days the embryos were transferred.
In 2021, a healthy child was born, which made the boy’s marriage happy. From there, however, the story got more complicated. Family members began commenting on the lack of physical resemblance between the father and the baby.
Cornered with the situation, they decided to take the paternity test, which confirmed the lack of a relationship. Since then, the couple has considered the case extremely serious and irreparable. The family also claimed to be confused by the son’s family history, which became a question mark.
