Man Finds McDonald’s Snack Hidden In Wall In US After 60 Years

A man was left stunned after he found a partially eaten McDonald’s fast food meal stuck in a wall while renovating the bathroom of his home. The episode took place in Illinois, USA.

While demolishing the plaster, the property’s owner, known only as Rob, came across a mysterious package wrapped in a very worn paper sleeve and decorated with decorative details from the famous hamburger restaurant. When he opened it to check the contents, he found a halfempty bag of chips and other packages that likely contained the sandwiches.

Speaking to Newsweek magazine, Rob admitted he was relieved after confirming the paper bag contained only what was left of an old snack, as he initially thought something more sinister might be lurking inside the wall.

“As I was removing an accessory in the bathroom, I noticed a piece of fabric stuck behind the cast and I pulled it out to show my wife. It was rolled up and we realized there was something else inside,” he said. “When we unpacked it, we found the old McDonald’s bag and fries. We were very pleased as we didn’t expect to find anything like this,” he added.

Nonetheless, Rob became curious about the origin of this strange find and began delving deeper into the history of his home and neighborhood. According to him, the property was built in 1959.

During his research, he found that the home is located in Crystal Lake, 45 miles northwest of Chicago, near an old facility that once housed a McDonald’s franchise unit in the 1950s.

“It’s very close to a McDonald’s that opened back then, so I assume the snack was put up on our wall by the original builders,” he told the publication.

The restaurant’s former branding on the found packaging features a mascot with signs reading “I’m Faster” and “Custom Burgers”.

Excited about the situation, Rob decided to share pictures of the snack on the Reddit social network. Many users were impressed with the discovery and played with the context, because for many of them it’s not every day you find an old McDonald’s combo in a wall.

One person who identified with the story wrote, “As a former construction worker, you would be surprised at the amount of potato chip bags, Gatorade bottles, Coke bottles and fast food cups in many of the newer homes.”

A second said: “Great. About 22 years ago, when we renovated our bathroom and kitchen, we filled every wall void we could with beer cans. We’ll be tearing this place down soon, I can’t wait to find her.”

Other netizens “urged” Rob to try one of the fries, considering they were well past their sellby date, and shared his reaction.
