A netizen would have been duped by an Instagram profile posing as Simone Mendes and ended a 13year marriage after thinking the singer was in love with him. In conversation with General balanceHe says he’s not ashamed of what happened and says he’s back with the woman.
The man, whose identity has not been revealed, said he was surprised the profile he spoke to wasn’t officially verified but said he was persuaded by the way the person spoke to him. “It wasn’t an official profile, but what caught my attention was the way the person addressed me.”
Despite this initial awkwardness, he continued talking to Simone’s fake profile. He said he tried making some video calls to confirm the identity of the person behind the account. “I did a video call and she was usually a little busy and said she wasn’t alone,” she recalled.
The netizen even received a video call from the fake account but didn’t answer as the call was made at dawn while he was sleeping. The man said what made him think he was talking to Simone were some topics discussed in the chat, such as the end of the duo with Simaria, which he says he found out about before the official statement.
The woman who would have been dropped also spoke to the balance sheet. She says she has been married for 13 years and that her husband has started to change his behavior and won’t let her touch his phone. According to her, the netizen left the house after she published a photo with him, which the wrong Simone would have seen and irritated about the post.
Despite the woman’s statements, the man said he was still married. He also says he found out he wasn’t actually speaking to Simone but decided to continue the conversation to see how far it went and try to find out the identity of the person behind the profile.
“I gave everything to see how far it would go. According to her statement, the result would be separation from her husband and I would stay with her,” she said. The profile said that Simone would divorce the businessman Kaká Diniz, with whom she has been married for nine years and has two children, and also promised him jobs, for example in security or with the duo Maiara and Maraisa.
The man also said he was not ashamed of having been tricked. “Ashamed, no. I think my attitude favors them more. [Simone Mendes], because there is a person who embodies it. She’s more of a victim than I am.”
