The snack bar owner's good service persuaded him to stay millionaire from day to night. After the death of one of his customers, Sam Jones woke up as the owner R$30 million left by friend David Turner. Jones lives in the United Kingdom and owns a small restaurant where he met Turner.

After being loyal customers at the restaurant for years, David and Sam became friends and discovered that they had several common interests. When he died in 2017, David left part of his fortune to his friend, even against his sister's wishes. As a result, there were years of legal disputes against the entrepreneur. However, the court decided to grant David Turner's wishes and keep the R30 million that was supposed to go to Sam Jones.

Many people close to David Turner say he acted like a father to the restaurant owner. Their friendship began in 2000 when Sam served David a burger. They became good friends because of their shared passions. However, David fell victim to an aggressive brain tumor at the age of 71 and died in 2017.

Sister had a contentious relationship with the businessman

According to the court ruling, Sam and David had a fatherson relationship. On the other hand, David's relationship with his sister Linda ended in 2008 and was defined as a conflictual relationship. David was a big businessman in the container business and also owned a pig farm and leased land.

In his will, David left the farm and part of the 14 hectares of leased land to Sam. Other friends also benefited from the document, but with smaller amounts. Turner also left €5,000 to the British Polio Fellowship because Sam had suffered from polio as a child.

When she came across her brother's will, Linda went to court to challenge the document. During the trial, Sam Jones' lawyer stated that there was strong evidence that David was Sam's longtime friend. Another point raised by the lawyer was that Sam looked after David in the last months of his life and also organized the wake and funeral.

Ultimately, the judge was decisive in the presentations and sided with Sam Jones. “There is evidence that Mr Turner expressed a strong dislike for his sister. His intentions were clear in 2013: he wanted Mr. Jones to return as his friend and he did not want any part of his property to go to Ms. Linda,” the judge concluded in his decision on the case.
