Man in critical condition after burglary – La Voix de l'Est

The event occurred around 6 a.m., two days before Christmas. Patrol officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) were called to a residence on 2nd Range North. At the scene they discovered a “seriously injured” man.

“During the incident, the suspect(s) allegedly caused significant injuries to the victim on the spot and disappeared before police arrived. The victim, a 31-year-old man, was transported to a hospital. At the moment we still fear for our lives,” said Camille Savoie, spokeswoman for the SQ, on Thursday.

A relative confirmed that the victim was Jeffrey Poulin from Saint-Ignace-de-Stanbridge.

The victim would be Jeffrey Poulin, the resident of the residence. The young man's identity was confirmed by a relative in an email to La Voix de l'Est a few days after the incident.

According to this source, the man was transported to a hospital in the metropolis for treatment of head injuries. She mentioned that the victim's brain had shown “no vital signs” since his arrival at the hospital.

This tragedy is not the first to strike this family. In October 2018, Jeffrey Poulin's brother Anthony died in a traffic accident in Dunham.
