A promising sign someone could be a good romantic match? They commit to each other’s comedy bits.
Two single New Yorkers went all-in on a particularly hilarious affair after meeting on dating app Hinge, with the man penning an entire fake resume to apply for the woman’s date position.
The resume listed his qualifications, including that he “will dance like nobody’s looking” and is an “excellent conversationalist”.
Becca, 28, financial influencer for Blonde Broke & Bougie, responded with a suitably formal response, inviting her partner Damien to meet her for a first-round interview.
The couple continued the hilarious back-and-forth up to the date themselves, with the man even pretending to be his own assistant to confirm the details.

The specially prepared resume said Damien would “dance like nobody’s looking” and was an “excellent conversationalist” and “charming single man”.
Becca shared details of the banter with Damien in a viral TikTok video that racked up nearly a quarter of a million views in less than 24 hours.
“So last night I was on a Hinge date and the lead up to that date was amazing and needs to be shared,” she said.
In her profile, Becca mentions that she has a boat – she tells it’s her family’s pontoon boat in the Catskills – and Damien opened their conversation by asking: “What do I have to do to get invited on this boat will?
“Show your qualifications,” Becca replied.
“Do you have an email? Can submit my resume tonight,” Damien wrote back.
Becca admitted on TikTok that she was hesitant to give him her email address, but decided, “On the off chance that he actually sends a resume, that would be hilarious. So I gave him my email.

Damien sent his resume with a formal email applying for the Date/Guy To Invite On Your Boat position.
She responded with the address and told him, “Make sure it’s specific to the position you’re applying for.”
“The next day,” Becca explained, “to my great surprise, I get an email from him who is fully committed to the cause, with a resume attached.”
Damien continued to address her in a formal tone, as if he were applying for a job.
“Becca, please find attached my resume,” he wrote. After careful consideration, I believe you will find that my qualifications exceed expectations and I would be the perfect fit for the position of Date/Invite Man on Your Boat.’

The couple went back and forth with formal messages, with Damien suggesting a meeting place
“Highly motivated individual looking for the ultimate companion/dance partner/dinner date/weekend getaway partner,” was his description.
For his work history, Damien listed two current positions: “Human” and “Boat Enthusiast”.
Under ‘human’ bullet points are ‘will dance like nobody’s watching’, ‘excellent conversationalist (friends and family love me)’ and ‘great sense of humor (half British, everyone likes British humour’).
He also listed that he was Limbo Champ 2019 and is “a little extra” (enough to write a resume for a date, but not enough to put you off).
Under “Boating Enthusiast,” he wrote that he “has successfully operated both powerboats and PWCs under a NYS boating license,” “always brings drinks and sunscreen,” and “can do a backflip or a 10/10 jump off the bow.”
Damien also listed skills including emotional intelligence, normal intelligence, cooking and scheduling.

“So at this point I’m like, oh, OK, we commit to the part. So I sent a long email back,” Becca said.
Her email read: “Thank you for your interest in the position. It is a highly competitive market but I am pleased to announce that we would like to invite you for an initial interview.
“This interview consists of choosing a time and place and then we will assess your choices, your interviewing skills and your overall appearance. If you pass this round of interviews, we would discuss the next steps.
“Please indicate your availability,” she continued, suggesting dates. “You can also send a calendar invite if that works for you. Thank you and good luck!’
Damien continued the joke too.

“I guess your team is very busy, how would next Tuesday at 8pm work? According to my information, your office is located in [redacted]’ he continued, suggesting a location and asking for her number.
Damien even texted her, pretending to be his own assistant, to confirm the “interview” the day before. Becca tells there will be a second interview soon.
Becca sent him a calendar invite titled “Interview,” and wrote back, “Your interview has been confirmed by our scheduling team. You should also have received a calendar invitation.’
In her TikTok video, she added that she was “too committed” and not ready for it to end with text, so she encouraged him to keep doing it.
‘Please note our office number: [redacted],’ She wrote. “You can note that every communication prior to the interview will be evaluated by our team and will play a role in deciding whether you advance to the next round.”
Damien got the message. The day before their date, he texted her pretending to be his own assistant.
“Beka! That is [name’s] Assistant confirming you’re still coming to our first interview tomorrow,” he wrote.
Becca confirmed and asked him to have copies of his resume ready for distribution. She also briefed him on formal business attire.

“He asked if he could communicate with me normally afterwards instead of in interview form, but I’ll plan a second round of talks soon anyway,” she said.
She also asked him if it was okay for her to post their exchange on TikTok – and he said yes, as long as she agreed to have dinner with him next week.
