A suspected thief found a clever way to hide from authorities in Poland by posing as a mannequin in a shop window.
“A 22-year-old with a bag in his hand froze motionless and pretended to be a mannequin in front of a shop window,” a translated police statement said.
“This was his way of avoiding being exposed by the cameras.”

Police said the clever thief posed motionless in the window until the mall store closed.

When the last customer left and the mall doors were secured, the man broke his stance and robbed a jewelry stand, police said.

Authorities said the thief returned for the second round “on another occasion.”

This time he ate his fill at one of the food stations before stealing a new outfit.
Afterwards he returned to eat something more.

Polish authorities said the man eventually “ran out of luck” and was noticed by mall security.

He was arrested and police said he faces up to 10 years in prison.

According to police, this was not the first time the man had stolen from a shopping center.

Police said he took money from a cash register and attempted to steal other items after the cash register closed.
