A man in Wilton Manors, Florida, punched a postal worker in the face and ripped off her hijab. He now faces hate crime charges.
Fort Lauderdale police arrested 47-year-old Kenneth Jerome Pinkney on October 24th.
According to the arrest report, the mail carrier, who was wearing her uniform and whose identity was not released, was on her way to a home to deliver mail when Pinkney rode past her on a bicycle and pretended to hold a gun with her fingers firing.
Then he started insulting them and asked them to return to their country.
Despite her nervousness, the victim decided to ignore it and just laugh.
Unfortunately, the man wouldn’t stop. He tore off her hijab and punched her repeatedly in the face.
With her mouth bleeding and her face scratched, the woman managed to climb into her truck as best she could and flee the scene.
Kenneth Jerome Pinkney was arrested at his home later that day.
