Apparently dissatisfied with the waiter’s performance, a man shot and killed a waiter at a restaurant in central Pescara.
At lunchtime on Sunday, gunshots echoed through Piazza Salotto in Pescara, on Italy’s Adriatic Sea. They left a bar-restaurant, were fired by a guest and hit a 23-year-old waiter, who is now in intensive care.
The bloody act has shocked Italy – especially as it seems so pointless. Because the trigger for the guest to embroider and finally take the weapon seems to be extremely banal: as the “Corriere della Sera” writes, quoting the host, the man must complain that the long waiting time between the first and the second bothered the gang. “He came into the restaurant with a glass of wine and started yelling at my employee and complaining about the waiting time. He hit him first, then took out his gun and shot,” the innkeeper reports.
Sagittarius is on the run
The attacker, a tall, bald man in a suit, was eating outside. He’s not a regular customer, but he was a guest on Friday. After the fact, he ran away. He is wanted.
Surveillance camera footage shows the man leaning over the counter and shooting the young man several times at close range. A second employee who was present wanted to calm the angry man, but then had to idly watch as his colleague was hit. She is in shock. The victim is a young man from the Dominican Republic who has been living in Abruzzo for some time. “I hope the boy recovers,” his boss said. “At the moment we have no news from the hospital.”
