Authorities responded quickly to ensure the safety of citizens by implementing preventative containment measures in a portion of downtown Drummondville. This approach is confirmed by both the authorities present on site and students at Ellis College. The barricaded stay of children at a local daycare and students at Ellis College was lifted around 3:30 p.m. While in custody, special security measures were in place at the Drummondville Courthouse to ensure the safety of staff.
