Two men of the same age won the lottery in the United States in the same week
The case happened in the United States, where another man of the same age also won that same week;
The numbers of all Bonus Match 5 draws were studied;
The other switched games and won on his first try at Lucky For Life.
In the United States, a man who has been playing the same numbers for 20 years won a $50,000 prize in the lottery or R$250,000 in the game Bonus Match 5. The winner, who is 77, told staff at the facility that came to the number drawn after years of analyzing the results of the draw.
“I remember numbers and groups of numbers from some of the first Bonus Match 5 draws they ever had. They just stick in my mind,” the player told lottery officials.
After using his combination for several years, he finally won after purchasing a ticket for the September 16 drawing at the Long Gate Mobil gas station in Baltimore. The lucky guy claimed to be watching TV when the winning numbers popped up on the screen.
“I recognized them immediately,” he said, “all five!”
After realizing he had won, he said he called the lottery just to confirm the win. “I’ve had four matching numbers several times, but to be honest I never expected to match all five,” he said. According to his own statements, he wants to use the money he earns to buy a new car.
That same week, another 77yearold man won another lottery game in the United States, this time in the state of Michigan. The winner won the Lucky For Life game, which pays a lump sum of US$390,000 (R$2 million) or annual installments of US$25,000 (R$132,000) for 20 years.
“I had never played the Lucky For Life game, but I decided to give it a try instead of Mega Millions or Powerball,” he said. “The next day I received an email saying I had won a prize. When I logged into my lottery account and saw how much I had won, I was shocked.”
