Mandalorian fans have given their scathing verdict on the Season 3 finale.

The episode, titled “Chapter 24: The Return,” released Wednesday morning (April 19) on Disney+, brought a number of storylines to a close.

The following are spoilers for the third season of The Mandalorian – you have been warned!

Finally, in The Return, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his Force-sensitive ward Grogu, along with Katee Sackhoff’s Bo Katan, defeat the villain Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) and reclaim the planet Mandalore for the Mandalorian people.

The episode ends with Din officially adopting Grogu as his child and giving him the name Din Grogu. The couple are given a cabin to live in by Greef Karga (Carl Weathers).

Despite some shocking celebrity cameos and the emotional return of a former Star Wars actor, The Mandalorian season 3 has received a tepid response from fans, and the finale failed to win over many people.

“I’m sorry if it’s just me, but the Mandalorian s4 finale felt disappointing,” one person wrote on Twitter. “Spies/traitors never paid off, Praetorian guards were quickly iced out, no real threat to any character, Moff goes out with a whimper…”

“The Mandalorian finale was kind of in the middle. Like a 6/10. Damn,” wrote another.

“Finale was a slumber party. A bad end to a bad season. Moff really dead?? I’m sure he’ll be back. Darksaber broken?? Why?? Mythasour ended up being nothing, and who were the spies??? I’m sick of these Star Wars Ls,” commented another.

“Finale had an amazing fight… but damn that was pretty overwhelming,” another fan remarked. “Just like this season, it was just… okay. I was waiting for something to happen and it really wasn’t anything special.”

Others, however, were more positive about the episode.

“The Mandalorian finale was pretty good. Not groundbreaking or anything crazy, but it was a good end to the season,” commented one fan.

Another opined: “The Mandalorian season finale was solid I think. The season as a whole was also solid for me.”
