Rule of law and democracy will prevail, says Mandl

Strasbourg (OTS) – “The European Union is obliged to create a special court for aggressive war crimes against a sovereign state. Unlike other institutions, the EU cannot be blocked by Putin’s Russia. The same applies to the Council of Europe in its current composition “That’s why the EU can work together with the goodwill forces of the Council of Europe. This is what the European Parliament proposes in its current resolution,” explains Lukas Mandl, ÖVP foreign policy spokesman in the European Parliament, ahead of today’s meeting of the European Parliament’s plenary session vote.

“Putin and the other perpetrators at the political and military leadership levels must be held accountable. In addition to planning the trial of the attack that violated the integrity of Ukraine, the trial of war crimes committed in this war and will is also being carried out. The state rule of law and democracy will prevail”, says Mandl. (Final)
