Mandy Moore says she’s ‘so happy’ for ex Andy Roddick and his family as she gushes over his GQ profile and reveals they’re no longer ‘in contact’

Mandy Moore spoke affectionately about her ex Andy Roddick after the release of his new GQ profile.

The 39-year-old actress – who dated the tennis star from 2003 to 2004 – praised the tennis star while discussing his post on her Instagram Stories.

“Andy was a really formative part of my young adult life and while we’re not in touch I was really moved by this article as he reflects on the 20th anniversary of his US Open victory and the kind of life he’s led since then” , Mandy, who was recently on vacation in Italy, posted on Monday.

“I’m so happy for him and his family.” Congratulations on this milestone, Andy!’

The This Is Us actress also had a friendly Instagram exchange with Roddick’s wife, Brooklyn Decker, as she commented on her post on his interview.

“I loved this item. Happy 20th Anniversary of the Open!’ Mandy wrote before Brooklyn replied: ‘You’re class.’ You were a big part of his life (and even there) during this time.’

Former lovers Andy and Mandy met on the set of the movie “How To Deal,” and the singer credited her mother with helping make the match happen.

“In the last three weeks of the film, I meet this guy who just steals my heart. I’m so happy and in love with him. I have my mom to thank for that,” she said on The Early Show, according to InStyle.

Andy married model Brooklyn Decker in 2009 and they have son Hank, seven, and daughter Stevie, five, together.

The pair became closer after Andy had his attorney put her agent in touch. According to GQ, Brooklyn thought the move was “dodgy.”

“The only thing I have to say in my defense,” he said, “is that I didn’t do it all the time.” “Firing the shot was a one-time thing.”

A few months later, they went on their first date and spoke on the phone for weeks before meeting in person in New York.

“We had breakfast the next morning,” Brooklyn said. “We didn’t spend the night together.”

The tennis pro popped the question to Brooklyn in their Indian Wells hotel room when he was 25 and she was 20.

In one hand he held “a sprig of holly he had broken off a bush” and in the other the ring, the publication said.

“I was like, ‘I don’t think I’m going to be in a serious relationship forever,’ and then we were engaged for about six months. And then we really got to know each other,” he said.

Mandy married her first husband, former Whiskeytown singer Ryan Adams, in 2008 before finalizing their divorce in 2016.

She has been married to Taylor Goldsmith of folk rock band Dawes since 2018 and they have sons August (2) and Oscar (9 months).

The Candy singer previously admitted that as a mother of two young children she often feels overwhelmed but “gets down” with the “process” of motherhood.

She told E! News: “Some days I feel like we’re barely afloat.” The potty training is intense, but we’re getting there. I love that someone told me, ‘It’s not an event, it’s a process.”
