Damian David, the Maneskin frontman, has revealed to his fans that he was scared of dying on the set of the Roman band’s brand new video clip of the highly anticipated song The Loneliest, which was released on October 7th. The first frame of the video clip (and also the last one), which stages a very sad Anglo-Saxon-style funeral, shows Damiano underwater, motionless, a stone’s throw from drowning. He looks dead, but then suddenly opens his eyes. The singer feared for his life when shooting these scenes: “As you can see in the video, in some scenes they are under water. There were some difficult moments while we were shooting this play. They put some weights on me to get me down, but for the first two or three takes they took the weights too far and I thought I was really dying. Guys, I swear I really thought so,” Damiano said during a live broadcast of the quartet on YouTube. “It wasn’t the closest thing to death, but I got close,” he added, confessing, “What if it was the first time I was close to death? No, I was a very lively boy. My father saved my life at least twice.”
