Those who say Nintendo Direct also hope that the rumors come true. However, if Nintendo’s latest presentation didn’t reveal anything about highly anticipated projects like the successor to the Nintendo Switch or a new Donkey Kong, the fact remains that many games were announced there. The least we can say is that Nintendo is preparing some very interesting projects for you, especially if you are an old fan of the Mario universe and are hoping for remakes!
The return of one of the best games on the GameCube
After the unexpected release of Metroid Prime Remastered a few months ago, rumors began circulating that Nintendo was preparing more ports of GameCube games for the Nintendo Switch.
This was partially confirmed as the Japanese company announced that there would be an HD port Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Gate will be released on its hybrid console next year. Nothing should be added except better resolution and a revised visual atmosphere. For this purpose we will see more cardboard behind the figures, giving them a paper effect.
Still, it will be very pleasant to return to one of the best games on the GameCube and, for many, the best Paper Mario yet!
An old rivalry between Mario and Donkey Kong will be revived
The Game Boy Advance received the first game in the excellent series Mario vs Donkey Kong. Nintendo will reissue this first work on the Nintendo Switch on February 16, 2024 as a remake and not as a simple remastering.
Although you’ll still have to face Donkey Kong by completing small levels full of puzzles and collecting Mario robots, this re-release will offer some new features. Below you will find a local cooperation mode, immersed in a great, very colorful and fluffy visual atmosphere.
An unexpected return for F-Zero
The F-Zero series has been off the radar for a while now. Well, Nintendo brings it back to us in an unexpected game that uses the concept of the ’99 series works.
As a matter of fact, F-zero 99 is now available on the Nintendo Switch. This is a battle royale game where you have to compete against 98 opponents and try to stay alive. However, you have to watch out for a meter that, while it helps you move around, will also cause you to die if you drain it completely.
F-Zero 99 is available for free to Nintendo Switch Online members. We don’t know how long the game will be available, although given the other 99 games released, it will likely be at least a few months.
New details about the next Princess Peach
During a previous Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced that a second game in the Princess Peach series was in the pipeline. We now know a little more about it.
Titled Princess Peach: Showtime! This new adventure focused on the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom will be available on March 22, 2024. You can equip Peach with a variety of costumes that give her different abilities. You have the opportunity to complete a whole range of activities and face different levels full of obstacles.
In short, a game that promises to be light but at the same time very attractive!
A collection of the first Tomb Raider for next year
While rumors suggest that a new Tomb Raider is on the way, a trailer tells us that there is an HD compilation of the first three games in the series.
These three games are therefore entitled to a new edition that, in particular, gives them a new visual level. The old pixels will give way to softer textures and rounder character models. However, if you wish, you can switch between the period images and the contemporary images. In addition, each game will contain expansions and secret levels.
The compilation Tomb Raider I-III will be available on February 14th not only on Nintendo Switch, but also on Xbox One/Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 4/5 and PC. We keep our fingers crossed for the developers to update the game mechanics as well, as the first Tomb Raiders are practically unplayable by today’s standards.
A first look at Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s sixth wave of content
Lover of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the sixth wave of content for the game will arrive as planned during the next holiday season. However, we know a little more about what it will add to the game.
Here’s how you can race on the Mario Kart Wii Daisy Circuit track. Additionally, four new characters are added, namely Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Pauline and Peachette.
New release dates and trailers for various projects
During its presentation, Nintendo revealed new dates and trailers for some of its projects as well as those of other developers.
We were also able to see a new preview of Detective Pikachu returns, which will be available on October 6th. In the trailer we could see how other Pokémon will help you in your quest.
Also the trailer for the highly anticipated new release of Super Mario RPG introduced us to some of the mechanics from that era that will be returning. Oh, and how could you not fall in love with this colorful and cute image?
Lover of Splatoon 3 will be eligible for the game’s second expansion in the spring. It’s called “Side Order” and is accessible to you if you’ve already purchased the game’s Season Pass. Otherwise you can purchase it separately.
In addition, the HD remake of Luigi’s Mansion 2: Dark Moon will be released next summer. The trailer introduced us to gadgets and environments that were present in the original release for Nintendo 3DS.
We also got a new preview of the highly anticipated work Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. This 2.5D action game is still scheduled for January 18, 2024 and takes us back to the origins of the series. The trailer allowed us to see some combat mechanics and some bosses we will face.
On the other hand, the rhythm game Trumpet field can now be purchased in the eShop Store. Released exclusively on PC last year, this game is quite unique in its genre as it asks you to follow the rhythm of songs using a virtual trombone. On your console, you can use the gyroscopic controls and motion detection of your Joy-Cons to mimic your trombone’s actions on screen. A very special and crazy experience!
Another exclusive PC game will also be available for the Nintendo Switch. As a matter of fact, Dave the diver will be available on Nintendo console on October 26th. In this indie game you have to manage your sushi restaurant during the day and fish for different types of fish in the evening.
New Amiibo are on the way
Amiibo collectors will be happy to know that new statuettes will be available in the coming months.
In fact, amiibo inspired by the Zelda and Ganondorf models from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on November 3rd.
Noah and Miuo Amiibo from Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be available on January 19, 2024.
Finally, an Amiibo inspired by the Sora model from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is currently in development. We don’t know when it will be available, but Nintendo has announced that it will be available next year.
A compilation of excellent investigation games heading to the Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo DS welcomed Trace Memory, also known outside North America as Another Code: Two Memories, an excellent narrative investigation game.
Nintendo has announced that it will bring back not only this game to Nintendo Switch, but also its sequel, which has never been released on North American soil. The HD remasters of these games will be offered in a single named set starting January 19th Another code: memory. A must for fans of puzzle and investigation games!
A new work for the SaGa series
Fans of role-playing games and especially the SaGa series can get their hands on a new work from the latter. In fact, Square Enix has announced that it is very advanced in development SaGa Emerald Beyond Therefore, it is planned to release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, PC, iOS and Android next year.
The trailer allowed us to learn a little more about the different classes we can play as, including a witch, a combat robot and a ventriloquist.
