The 38-year-old veteran could have become an unrestricted free agent next July. His new contract will net him $800,000 annually.

The Leafs acquired Giordano from the Seattle Kraken on March 20 for two second-round picks and one third-round pick.

In 20 regular-season games with the Toronto club, the guard netted twice and was instrumental in 10 wins for 12 points. He appeared in every matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Maple Leafs’ seven-game first-round loss to the 2022 playoffs.

Before joining the Kraken in the 32nd National League Expansion Draft, Giordano played 13 seasons with the Calgary Flames. He won the Norris Trophy in 2018-19.
