Forward Tyler Bertuzzi was unrecognizable at Toronto Maple Leafs practice Monday morning.
The 28-year-old ice hockey player took advantage of the break from the All-Star Game to cut his long hair. He donated them to the “Wigs 4 Kids” organization.
“I donated my hair to children with cancer last year [au Michigan] and I gave them away again,” Bertuzzi explained. It is difficult for children and their families. It's little things like that that make the difference. Instead of cutting them up and throwing them in the trash, you might as well give them away.”
“This is the first time I’ve cut my hair in the middle of the season. The boys gave me a lot of looks this morning.”
Bertuzzi took advantage of the break to vacation in Michigan with his wife and two small children.
“It felt good to recharge my batteries and get back to work. We are all looking forward to getting back on the ice and want to finish the season strong.”

Bertuzzi is playing his first season with the Leafs after signing a one-year deal worth $5.5 million last summer. In 46 games so far in the 2023/24 season, the winger has hit the goal six times and provided 14 assists for 20 points.
