“I should have just died in my boat!”
Marc André Kohlier was present on the set of It’s a good end to the week accompanied by the moderators Julie Belanger And Jean-Michel Anctil.
The presenter revealed that he had turned down a role Room in the city In addition to revealing that I came close to death!
Marc-André lived with us Francis Reddy at the time and had simultaneously auditioned with him for a role in Rooms in the City. So he could have starred in the cult series with his friend, but his plans changed over time.
“We have learned that you have been offered a role Room in the city that you refused! He was the friend of Patricia Paquin, who played Geneviève (…) The character of Marc-André. You said no. Why did you say no?” asks Jean-Michel Anctil.
“Look, I went to the audition. My friend, Francis Reddy, we lived together (…) Then we will do the audition together here. The hearing works both ways. He does Pete. I do Marc-André. I wanted the role and here I have it! But at the same time I am offered another offer. Guy Fournier is talking to me about something, Gold and paper, a great series. Marina Orsini, who played Lance and Count, will play your sister. I say, Hey, this is a lot bigger than Rooms in the City. So I said to Francis: Francis, look, Chambres en ville is fun, but it’s a little soap opera, you’ll be doing it for two years (…) I’ve got my finger in the eye!” says Marc-André, who perhaps later regretted his choice.
A little later in the show he talked about the sailboat accident that almost cost him his life between two filmings of the legendary youth show The 100 Watt Club.
“It was autumn. Then, in autumn, the sea is a little warmer… then I reassure everyone: a sailboat cannot capsize (…) We set off and the weather starts to get bad. Then we were actually thrown, we capsized at sea (…) We actually turned upside down, the mast in the water. When the boat came back, everything was ripped away. Then we drifted for four days. I said to myself: This is it, this is me Completed! That’s where it’s going to happen (…) All sorts of things happen to you… you say to yourself: Listen, I can’t get out of this. And then you say to yourself: Do I deserve to get out of this? You ask yourself, it’s crazy. This is the moment when everything is decided. Then I say: I don’t deserve to get out of this because you’re nothing but an asshole. You have everything you need, then you say, I’m going boating, and then you don’t think about the others,” Coallier explains.

When he returns to land (Bermuda), Marc-André realizes that everyone is looking for him.
So he called his partner… who had big news to tell him.
“I say: Yes, it was mixed! (…) I was afraid. I don’t know if we should stay together (…) I should have just died in my boat. There she said: No, you won’t do that because I’m pregnant and you have to come back. Then I did it… it’s like your life changes,” concludes Marc-André.
Luckily everything ends well, all is well!
