The 28-year-old Montrealer has made 38 total defensive tackles and intercepted four passes, including one that ended in a major, in 17 starts with the Sparrows in 2022. The second-round pick of the Alouettes (14) attended the Green Bay Packers Rookie Camp in 2020 that same year before attending eight meetings in Montreal in 2021.
“Marc-Antoine is one of the fastest players in our league and he’s oozing with talent,” said Alouettes general manager Danny Maciocia in a statement. We are very happy about this contract extension, he will be with us for a few more years and will continue to assert himself on and off the pitch.
“I’m really looking forward to extending my adventure with the Alouettes. “I have the opportunity to play at home in front of my family and friends and have the support of exceptional fans,” commented Dequoy. I can hardly wait for the start of the season. Things are looking good with the arrival of a new owner [Pierre Karl Péladeau] and a president [Mark Weightman]Coach Jason Maas and the addition of many talented players.”
A native of Île-Bizard, he played four seasons for the Université de Montréal Carabins and helped the team reach the 2019 Vanier Cup game. He was named to the Canadian All-Star Team and to the RSEQ in three different years.
