Comedian and screenwriter Marcelo Adnet and TV Globo will not renew the current contract, which ends on December 31 this year. So after a decade of collaboration, the artist will no longer be part of the station. The information was confirmed by Globo’s communication to the Q5.
According to Adnet’s advisers, in a statement to the newspaper O Globo, this move is considered “natural” given the new possibilities and horizons that the streaming scenario opens up for artists and offers a new range of creative possibilities.
At Upfront, an event where Globo’s news for next year was announced, the broadcaster said there were discussions about Adnet playing a role in its coverage of the Olympics. So far nothing has been ruled out.
Marcelo Adnet had been with Globo since 2013, after five successful years at the now defunct MTV Brasil (19902013). His first project was the series “The Masked Dentist” (2013), which was considered a huge failure.
He also directed comedy attractions such as “Tá no Ar: A TV na TV” (20142019), which are still praised by television critics to this day. He also had his own talk show “Adnight” (20162017).
Since there was a lack of humor at Globo and no projects in sight, Adnet has been involved in soap operas such as “Mar do Sertão” (2022) and in projects in the channel’s sports area in recent years.
At the 2022 World Cup, for example, he commanded Que Doha é Essa?. This year there is the painting Fica Triste Não, which will be shown on Esporte Espetacular and in the program Boleiragem on SporTV.
