When are the games?
The games will take place on Saturday night at “The Big Easy” in Caesars Superdome:
- Villanova Wildcats vs. Kansas Jayhawks at 6:09 p.m. ET
- North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Duke Blue Devils at 8:49 p.m. ET.
The winners of each game will go head-to-head in the title match on Monday, April 4 at 9:20pm ET.
Pay attention to what?
Of the two matches, the second features one of the most famous rivalries in sport and is, no surprise, the duel everyone is talking about. Notably, Saturday’s semifinal between Carolina and Duke, two dueling universities from the same state, marks the first time the teams have met in the NCAA men’s tournament. The game becomes sentimental, to say the least. Duke’s legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski has led Duke to the Final Four 13 times and won five national championships. This season—his final before retiring—he set the record for most Final Four appearances in NCAA history. Duke is under pressure to win Saturday night and give Coach K the last win of his career.
With all the talk of the second semifinal, it would be understandable if both the Villanova and Kansas players felt underappreciated. Still, this game might have a rematch feel – at least for the fans. The two programs met in the Final Four four years ago when the Wildcats defeated the Jayhawks in a 95-79 loss.
how to watch
